Why are we just letting our debt stack up?

Deal Score0

Eventually we will have to start paying it off. It has reached 14 trillion now and it keeps rising. No one seems to be doing anything to stop the debt or pay it off. Are we just going to continue to ignore it forever? What are some of the plans to help fight our debts?

The G-20 that had a closed door meeting a few months ago while letting President Obama take a post travel nap are not ignoring it. Several early indicators are that most of them are starting to accumulate alternatives in debt from U.S. Debt Bonds and dollars. Prognosticators from many countries predict that the AAA credit rating that the U.S. enjoys may drop an A in as little as a year due to Quantitative Easing by the fed.
Our legislators seen hell bent on continuing to make more debt for fear that constituency bases that benefit from their perks won’t vote for them next term. U.S. Citizens seem to be sending mixed messages on that issue. On the one hand we want our free money. On the other if a legislator does not put entitlements and earmarks in legislation – they don’t get re-elected.

Because almost no one is willing to make the hard decisions, personal, or political to live within our means. And our means are shrinking. Anyone, rich or poor, who thought we could dismantle our manufacturing economy and live the same lifestyle is willfully ignorant.
People will continue to defy reality, (because we seemed to have outlawed consequences for many people and groups) until it is too late.
I carry no debt whatsoever, car, home, nothing. It comes at a price of lifestyle. But on one hand it is easy, as I am not in politics trying to buy votes with your tax money, or borrowing , on programs and perks of dubious real value.

Americans want everything but don’t want to pay for any of it.
