What is a good job description for a home mortgage loan officer to put on a resume?

As an experience Loan Officers, what advice can you give to me about your profession? I am very interested in working as a Loan Processor but I am also curious of what “real skills” does it take to work in a Mortgage Loan Office. Whom should you build a close working relationship with? I know the essential people would include a Mortgage Broker license, underwriter, loan consultant, document drawer, etc. but what else is needed besides a large capital.

“real skills” = things that are not included in the job description

As with any position you should put your job responsibilities. You should include measurable information such as the number and dollar amount of loans that you made. If you supervised others, you should mention that.

Outside of the technical skills covered in a job description for a Loan Processor, an ideal candidate would be anally attentive to detail, persverant to completion, innured of rejection and failure (many, many, many applications come to naught), be a “numbers person” yet have people skills to engage customers to trust you with a giant financial step, be patient and attuned to other’s learning styles in your ability to teach and lead applicants through the process in a way that makes them comfortable, be eager to work evenings and weekends and holidays (whenever the applications or deadlines come up), and be eager to pore over fine print and numbers hour after hour, day after day.
