We were approved for a mortgage Quicken. Now they want to fax a bank statement. Should I do?

I do not feel comfortable faxing my bank statement and payslips to someone I’ve never seen before. I heard they are reputable, but it is a sure way to do it? There are identity theft out there too, and I just want peace. Suggestions?

They have been around for at least 15 years.
Just make sure you have the correct site, and not some site with misspellings (a fake site).
If they were in the habit of cheating and frauding people, they would not be in business this long.

Any lender is going to ask the same of you, and likely a great deal more. If you want the loan you have to share all information they seek, it is really that cut and dry. The banking industry is highly regulated such that they have to keep all this information safe from the criminal elements that are responsible for identity theft. But if this is a real issue that is constantly on your mind I recommend one of the identity theft protection services offered today to attain a full sense of safety.
