So has Pelosi’s changed her values?

Deal Score0

Several days ago, disclosed that in February, shortly after his mother became the first woman speaker, Paul Pelosi Jr., was hired by InfoUSA for $ 180,000 a year as its vice president for Strategic Planning. Pelosi also kept his other full-time day job as a mortgage loan officer for Countrywide Loans in California. And, unlike all of the other InfoUSA employees, he did not report to work at the company’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

The son of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert moved to Washington when his father became speaker and landed a lush lobbying contract for Google.

When Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, she promised to change things — to enact serious, and long overdue, ethical reforms — to stop the growing trend of legislators and their families accepting gifts, trips, and jobs from lobbyists and corporations.

I’m not surprised. It’s par for the course – both parties.

It took the Republicans 12 years to become just as autocratic and piggish as the Democrats they replaced, and to be thrown out.

Maybe it will take the Democrats only two.

What does her son taking a job with InfoUSA have to do with the Speaker of the House?

I’ll clue you in on something: Anytime a politician gains a position of power, there are plenty of companies who will pay to hopefully garner information, special priveledges, or have some influence via proxy.

This is a very common practice should you choose to research it and find out for yourself.

It’s not unethical for Pelosi’s son to accept a position solely based upon what office his mother holds.

Does your mommy tell you what to do still? Mine doesn’t either.

Pelosi or any other Politician can’t tell their children not to take high paying jobs.
