Repairing my credit report?

Deal Score0

Is anyone familiar with the company “Lexington Law” ? This is a credit repair company. I just wanted to know what experience and results (good and bad) you may have had dealing with them.I am thinking of using them to help repair my credit issues.
Thank You

Many of these companies are scam artists. Essentially there is no quick way to “repair” or “fix” your credit history. Legally there is no way they can erase any negative information from your credit file. Check with the Better Business Bureau and see if they have had any complaints made against them and also ask them if there are any upfront “fees” for their service. Best to stay away if there is.

don’t do it! 1. if the info is outdated or inaccurate, you could do this yourself w/ the price of postage. 2. if the info is accurate, the only thing that is going to get negs off of your reports permanently is time (7.5 years). lexington law tries to dispute all negs on your reports, hoping that the bureaus won’t respond in time so that they must be removed. trouble is, the negs will often just return in a few months.

you should read this. it’s from the better business bureau:

You can dispute errors on your credit report yourself for free. If the information is not an error, then you are stuck with it. Think about it. If bad information could be removed, then everybody would do it and reports would contain only good things and therefore be worthless. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t places that will charge you a fee up front and then do nothing for you.

They are ripoffs. Only you can “repair” your credit.
