Rent to Own Question???? Where to find this opportunity?

Deal Score0

Where do I find a bank willing to do a Rent to Own option? Or is absolutely no one doing this anymore? I live in Kansas City. My husband and I’s problem is not our credit or income… it is that he hasn’t been with his job for more than 2 years… and you can’t get a mortgage loan unless you have been with your job for 2 years.

A lender is not going to offer any sort of ‘rent to own’ arrangement on its owned properties. Lenders do not want to be involved with being a landlord, which is what a ‘rent to own’ scenario comprises. If you cannot buy a property from them outright, don’t bother wasting their time.

A rent with option to buy is only going to be available to you through a private seller, not a bank. Your best bet is to wait until you do qualify, then try to buy. Rent with option deals don’t usually work out well for the buyer.

No lender or bank will do it. If you search the classifieds or craigslist there are a lot of private sellers who will do it. I know here in Pittsburgh they are everywhere. They just want $ 2000 down and then monthly rent, but you agree to do everything to the house like cutting the grass, replacing appliances if they break down since you will be owning the house. Good luck!
