Some companies want 5 years or more. Yes it is required to show sustained employment and past income. Don’t argue with the mortage company—it is only past records and paper.

They simply want your income documented. This is no big deal.

The prior answer is correct. They just want to verify prior income. Additionally, they want to make sure that you have been paying your taxes, and haven’t been doing any fishy stuff. The government gets first dibs on you money if you owe back taxes.

I had to provide the same information.

It is their money…….you can say no and not get the loan or say yes and get the loan…your choice..you think they will lend money to you just because you are a nice person?

only if you want the money. if you’re refinancing that means you’ve financed before and should know this info is required.

some companies want them but if you have a good credit score like over 680 you can find a company that doesn’t require them….do a search for that…
