Is this discrimination?
I am looking to purchase a condo in Florida and have been approved for a mortgage through a VA lender. The VA must approve the community for the loan which is just a formality. The condo association is refusing to fill out the paperwork required for the VA to approve the community. They are basically saying that they do not want properties purchased through VA or FHA. My position is that this association should have no legal right to deny a private purchaser from obtaining whatever financing they desire. Does this sound like the association is being discrimanitory by interfering with the ability of a buyer to obtain whatever financing they want?
You may have just won the lottery. I would advise you to get a Prepaid Legal Membership at http://www.pploro.com and call a lawyer before the association changes their mind! It will cost very little to get you answers from someone that specializes in this sort of thing! Let me know how it goes!
No, it is not discrimination in any form (at least not in a form which is illegal). The association is not required to fill out any paperwork you demand. The VA can find other ways to approve this community.
Not discriminatory at all.
It is not!
