Is my identity stolen? Am I being harassed?

Deal Score0

I was not home, but my father picked up a call from the number 8772967847 . They claimed they were “national asset management,” and when my father asked who he was and what he wanted, the man said it was a “personal matter.”

I am eighteen and the only thing I have ever done to create a credit line for myself is opening up a Sprint PCS account–which I closed anyway before the 30 day monthly trial because I didn’t get good service.

I never give out my social security number and I do not have any debts. Could anyone tell me if this organization / number is a scam (which would suggest I’m just being harassed by a faux organization), or if it is legitimate and my identity may have been stolen.

There is an National Asset Management company. It is a debt collection agency.

The number doesn’t come up on, but that doesn’t mean anything. If it is a phone bank, it wouldn’t.

What they want, I don’t know. If it is legitimate or not, also I don’t know.

I don’t think your identity has been stolen but that you are a victim of another company that has your name in their database. This number belongs to who they say they are, but what purpose they have with you is not clear. You may want to check with Sprint to be certain that you do not owe anything after closing your account. Make sure their records agree with yours.

As you can see from this link, they have called others before.

Every time I get called by a number I don’t recognize, I check them out online through several sites like the one I just linked to you, and others. Sometimes all you have to do is type the phone number into the search bar and you will find it comes up multiple times…with many complaints.
