I’m going to be having my 3rd child soon how can I save money?

Deal Score0

I need to save money, we have 2 children under 1 year of age (a baby going on 3 months and an 11 month old, a week away from being 1 year) and i’m pregnant again
My husband is a pastor and we have free housing from our church, and my husband also works as a car salesmen and a part time cashier, I am a youth minister and I teach Sunday school and I work from home selling cosmetics and news paper subscriptions. Between the two of us we bring in about $ 2300 a month. Soon we will have 3 kids too support
how have you made it through tough financial times?
what are your best tips and tricks?
Where do you shop for food and personal needs? how much should a family of 3 spend?

We do all of our cloths and furniture shopping at thrift stores but I want to do more.

The first thing I’d do is make sure not to have sex 6 weeks after this baby is born! Wowsa! You’re a brave woman.

One of you may need to find a better paying job to get ahead. It sounds like you’re already spending as little as possible. Maybe cut your internet and cable if you have them. Cut back your phone to dial-tone only. Don’t ever go out to eat or rent movies.

I guess you should consider yourself lucky that the church supplies your housing. We’re about to have our third child (but three under the age of 8) and we only make about $ 700 more than you two a month but we pay out $ 900 a month in rent, too, not to mention school supplies and clothes for our oldest.

I found some helpful tips of ways to save money around the house that I hadn’t thought of before. It’s saved me a few hundred a month.

You are doing a fantastic job. Not having a mortgage is something few of us can say. Do you have a carpayment or credit cards? If so, try to pick the lowest and pay it off. If not, kudos to you. I shop with coupons and spend very little on clothes, I pass them down and always take hand me down’s. If you do celebrate christmas you can shop garage sales, and make gifts. We buy no frills grocery items on items that don’t really matter like tortilla chips ect. Try not to eat out much. I buy what I can from walmart, and then a wholesale store.

I’d like to get a part-time job where I can get a huge discount at a store we frequent alot.
