Idnetity flight? When I ask my credit, just ask my monthly mortgage payment? I did not get a loan?

When I see my credit file at Experian, it has no section for short-term loans. But before I ordered my credit report, they mentioned that I could get a loan and asked what my current payments. What does this mean? How can we loan if I do it?

YOU know, that’s very ODD. I tried to get my equifax know, buy it online. When I put my name and pertinent info, it said OK..the next step in the verification process: We see that a loan was obtained in your name from

    a bank
    b bank
    c bank
    d none of the above

    the monthly payments are
    A 0
B less than 200 pr month
C more than 200 per month

I thought it was a VERY strange way of verifying my identity, but what got me scared was when I answered NONE of the above, and zero, since I don’t HAVE a loan,

The NEXT screen said, sorry, we can’t confirm the ID!!!!

Thats what got me worried. I have to call eqifax on monday.
to find out what’s going on!!!!

The questions that Experian asks are their feeble attempt at thwarting ID theft. Trouble is, if an ID thief stole your identity, then the thief would know about the fraudulent loans they opened in your name.

Have you tried to pull your reports through in the past 12 months? If not, do it and right away.

If you have, then consider paying for your reports through a monitoring service.

    I use and recommend TrueCredit.

This is only to verify this is you. They generally ask about 3 different questions of current debts you have to verify they are providing the credit report to the right person. If you don’t have a debt then answer accordingly.
