How to get Wells Fargo to remove 2 unsub Staff loans & 2 sub Staff loans & put orig loan acct on credit rep?

Deal Score0

Wells Fargo has listed four loans on my credit report w/same acct no. Instead of just listing the orig. acct. It looks bad on my credit report, too many revolving accounts and show late payments on all four. If they would put the orig. account no. that I am making payment on, it would just list late payments on one acct not four. Please advise. I’m trying to clear up my credit to apply for a mortgage loan b/f Sept. 1st. Thank you so much!

They are not permitted to list the same account multiple times.

If they are listing the original loan four times, you can either contact them directly and ask them to remove the extra ones or dispute the accounts with the bureaus as multiple entries for the same debt and they should fall off.

However, the way you describe it is that you could have 4 separate loans from Wells Fargo. The student loan lenders count a sub and unsub loan as two separate loans. And if you take out a sub and unsub in the fall, then take out a sub and unsub in the spring, then you will have four different loans…and, by extension, four different accounts for them to report.

If you update and clarify your situation, I will re-examine my answer to help you further.

Your loans are under different account numbers, not the same one. The last digit may be different. I also have Stafford loans through Wells Fargo and I see the same thing on my account. The only way they’d be under the same account number is if you consolidated them and in that case there would only be one account showing up on your credit report with the loans all added together.
