The underwriting process usually takes about three to five days, or about a business week. The cleaner your credit history is, the shorter it will take.

all depends on the home you are buying, whether or not you are going government or conventional, your fico, your assets, income. Good case 3 days worst case 6 weeks. the more you are motivated the more the mortgage company will work harder to get it done.

depends, call up the lender and get a time table. lots depends on how backed up the underwriting department is. I know waiting on a mortgage loan is a pain, just like waiting for a employer calling you back after a interview or a biopsy result. lol

length of the mortgage process depends For example, some mortgage transactions are subject to a three-day legal ‘right of rescission’. this starts when you sign the disclosure document. Usually, periods range between 30 to 90 days.

Sounds like you are putting an offer on a foreclosure or a short sale property. Sometimes those take longer because there is an institution involved and not an individual selling a home.

You should never put an offer in on a home without first having your mortgage company chosen, how do you know you qualify?

The mortgage part depends upon how fast you get your paperwork to the mortgage company you will be using and if there are any issues with your credit, income, or assets. It can take anywhere from two weeks (have to give the appraiser and title company time to do what they need to do) to 30 or more days.
