How do i convince an insurance to pay for custom wigs for cancer patients?

Deal Score0

Im a licensed stylist and make custom wigs. I am interested in making these wigs for cancer patients and I heard that some health insurance providers will pay for this service. In doing research you have to call the wig making process a cranial prosthesis for the insurance company to respond, but I dont know how to get started in this endeavour.

Some do, and the patients get them at supply houses.

It’s not a matter of “convincing insurers to pay.” You must become an accredited provider under their terms.

Insurance companies never cover this. Just like they don’t cover weird bras after a partial mastectomy.

    You heard wrong.

An insurance provider will do this only if a contract or the law requires the insurance company to do it. You cannot convince an insurance company to do it voluntarily.
