HELP! I can’t find my mortgage?

Deal Score0

My loan was with TBW which closed last month. I am 3 months behind and was working w/ an outside mitigator to either refinance or short sell. Found out from them TBW closed. Still haven’t received any notice from a new comany & called all companies listed on TBW website – NO ONE CAN FIND MY LOAN. I know it’s prob in a bad debt pile and by the time someone gets to me its gonna be ready for foreclosure. HELP!!! How can I find it so I can save my home. Called Bank of America, Saxon, Owcela & Cenala (sp?) and nothing…. I am panicked!

    hang in there

some of the loans promising to pay have been misplaced or lost

this could take years to straighten out

An attorney I know has one case where a couple was facing eviction, they moved out. A year latter, nothing happened with the property so they moved back in. That was over 8 years ago. They saved the cash they would have spent on rent.

Go to local agency working to avoid home foreclosure. A nonprofit, HUD approved agency.
You don’t say if your outside mitigator was paid or what–beware many accomplish little or nothing for you that you couldn’t do yourself.

You have lost contact with your mortgagee, not your mortgage. Your mortgage is the document you signed pledging a security interest in your home.

Put money aside in a bank account for mortgage. Lender is required by law and your mortgage to promptly notify you of changes in servicing or owner of note.

Did you call TBW? Just because they closed does not mean they have disappeared. They only closed last month. They are still taking payments. I’m working with them right now for a client of mine.

First off; if you closed last month, you can’t be 3 months behind.

Aside from that. You could contact the office where you closed, they may be able to provide some help. I would send a certified letter (signature required) to the last know address for the lender, explaining that you have not received your payment booklet. Or however they expect you to make payments. If they don’t answer, I suggest you put that money into a special account each month. And when someone advises you payment is due, you pay them.

I don’t know what sort of processing you did to this, but I love it. The tones are fantastic and you almost look like you’re cut out of paper.
Totally awesome. And good luck in the meeting. x
