Chase sent me a preapproval for a Freedom card… I use their checking, and with the Debit Card rewards being eliminated, it looks like they are pushing these on customers. I already have a Slate with Chase, but I wanted to add the Freedom for the cash back.

I apply and they give me a $400 limit! I already had a $6,500 limit on my chase and cards with limits ranging from $4000 to $10,000. I do a backdoor, and I guess they couldn’t give me more because I have some recent inquiries (I applied for a few cards to get miles bonues recently).*

I want to keep this card, so what’s the best strategy for getting a CLI? Ask for one in 3 months? I want a $3000 to $4000 limit on this card; it can be a good cashback counterpart to my Amex.*
