Does the mortgage underwriter look at reasons for unusual deposits?

Deal Score0

I can verify and document all the deposits into my acount, as they are all paychecks. There is only one that is a credit card cash advance, and the reason for it is because my husband was on paternity leave and wasn’t going to get a paycheck for that time, and so we needed the money. Will this cause us to be denied a mortgage loan? Or does the underwriter take special circumstances like that into consideration?

You will need to document it which it sounds like you can do. However, that cash advance will not be able to be used in the purchase of your home because it is an unsecured debt.
