Google it, and look for blogs on the company. If it’s a scam, it’ll come up on google because people tend to tell about scams fairly quickly. Also see if the mortgage company has a web page. If the company is not privately held, and is a publicly traded company, you can check the SEC’s web page to find out information on them. Good luck.
I’ve been a processor for many years and never heard of it so it makes me skeptical. I just went to their site and it looks kinda legit – What are you trying to get from joining? You can join associations like the National Association of Mortgage Brokers or in Florida the FAMB. These affiliations will give you access to networking and continuing education.
