Can the USB port on my iPod be replaced?

Deal Score0

The little gray plastic thing cracked and fell out so that the wires no longer have any contact to the plug and now I can’t recharge it or anything. Do you think Apple can replace the USB port? The Apple rep at 1-800-My-APPLE couldn’t tell me if they are able to replace it or not, and required my credit card number before I even ship it to the shop. I would think that would be an easy repair, since that happens to computers too.

The thing is, my son invested 2 1/2 years worth of time and money into downloading 4700 plus songs. I don’t think it’s a waste of money to get it fixed for that reason. I already know how much the repair will cost. But why should I give them my credit card # before they even know they can repair it?

if you have all the songs on your iTunes, then why not just buy a new iPod and load all your songs onto there?
