Can I dismiss my ticket if I carried an expired insurance card (but have current card at home)?

Deal Score0

I just got a ticket for carrying an expired insurance card (says expired Oct 2008) but I have the correct one at home. Can I bring the correct insurance card to court and will the fine be dismissed?
Thanks!

Yes it will not go on your record, but you will probably have to pay a fix it ticket. I think depending where you live 10 – 25 dollars.

Your ticket should be dismissed and you will have to pay court cost, in my town, $ 33. Much better than the $ 180. for failure to provide documentation.

If you have an insurance card that was valid at the time you got the ticket it will be thrown out.
I went through a road block and could not produce my current insurance card fast enough to suit the cop so he wrote me a ticket. I went to court, showed the judge my insurance card and she dismissed it.
