Something crazy.
Im fighting my mortgage company for giving me a toxic mortgage a few years ago

i just finally found the copy of my mortgage note.
the loan officer NEVER met with me in person and the title company sent their notary to have me sign papers.

i am lookign at the place where the “mortgage officer is supposed to sign

their signature is crossed out and the notary signed instead

is this correct ?

You would need to find out if the notary was authorized to act on your mortgage holders behalf.

I highly doubt you are going to get out of your mortgage due to this though.

A notary signature verifies that they witnessed you signing the documents. This can be anyone that is a notary public. There is no need for the loan officer to sign any of the mortgage documents other than the initial application.
