Okay!
Question: A diary is 148 mm wide and 210 mm high. How do you find the diagonal of the diary??

All of the people on Yahoo answers asked this question but did not receive the answer I am seeking. I already got 210 pokemon but I need a little more elaboration/directions. Thank you (I always award ten points)!

Its squareroot(148^2+210^2).

Use pythagoras: c^2=a^2+b^2

If the diary is closed:

where a=148 and b=210, your calculator can calculate c^2 then c for you.

c=257

If the diary is open:

where a=2*148 and b=210, your calculator can calculate c^2 then c for you.

c=363

you’d find the diagonal of the diary by drawing a line diagonally on the diary.. here, you will see two right triangles.. 148mm is one side and 210mm is another. you can use the pythagorean theorem. c= square root of a^2+b^2 c is the diagonal and a and b are the 148mm and 210 mm

Your diary is rectangular in shape, which is essentially two right triangles put together. Thus, you can use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the length of the diagonal….

length of diagonal = sqr (148^2 + 210^2)
= 256.91 mm

Hope this helps.

To solve this problem, you must think of the diary as a rectangle with the sides of 148mm and 210mm. The diagonal is like the hypotenuse of a right triangle whose legs are 148mm and 210mm. To find the length of the hypotenuse, use the Pythagorean Theorem (a²+b²=c²) where a and b are the legs and c is the hypotenuse.

Therefore, a=148 and b=210

Now substitute the values into the equation:
148²+210²=c²
21904+44100=c²
66004=c²
√66004=√c²
256.91243644479338439295878460367mm=c

Diogonal = sqrt ( length ^2 + breadth ^2)
= sqrt ( 148 ^2 + 210 ^2)
= sqrt ( 66004)
= 256.9 mm

There is a rectangle 148mm x 210mm. The length of the diagonal can be found by:-
(Diagonal)^2 = 148^2 +210^2
= 21904 + 44100
= 66004
Diagonal = 256.9mm

d^2 = 148^2 + 210^2

d^2 = 66004

d = 257 mm ( to nearest whole number)

get the national dex in sandgem
go on the ship in snowpoint
arrive at battle area
go east to resort area

If you really have seen them all then simple go to Sandgem town (also beat the elite 4) then go to Snowpoint then ride a boat go to battle area beat the people and there you go the whole area is open.

1st (or 2nd if your good) beat the elite 4. 2nd (or 1st if your good) get the National Dex. 3rd get on the ship up near Snow Point city. 4th get on the boat there. 5th when you come to the fight area you can either surf left straight to the resort area or up to the survival are and around the island to get to your destination. I’m not 100% sure about going left.

so you got all 210? well then you need the national dex. Go to sandgem town, (make sure you have beaten the E4) talk to Rowan (the professor), and after you got the national dex, go to snowpoint city, talk to the guy by the boat, and go to the battle frontier! You will have to get your way through all the obstacles, but check your map and go in the direction of the resort area. One of the places in the battle place has an awesome creature in the water……..
